Laminate thickness

Thickness is of a great importance when choosing laminate. The reasons for it are:

    1. A manufacture carves 8-mm and 12- mm locks based on HDF (High Density Fiberboard – a high solidity board used for laminate manufacture). Such locks are more tear-proof than 6-mm and 7 –mm HDF locks. Therefore, laminate panels with thickness of 8 to 12 mm are more durable than their younger brothers of 6 to 7 mm.
    2. Thick laminate has a high sound-proof index.
    3. 8-mm and 12-mm laminate is easier to install than 6 and 7-mm laminate.

Laminate doesn’t need to be trimmed. It is a simple, cheap and ready-to-use material.
